National Library Week

What is National Library Week?

Each April libraries across the country celebrate National Library Week. Sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA), National Library Week (April 3-9, 2022) is a time to promote library use and show appreciation for library workers and their contributions to communities. This year’s theme is ‘Connect with Your Library.’ Whether helping to bridge the digital divide with technology resources, or introducing new programs, ideas, classes, and books, libraries are a free and essential connection point for the community.

Why is APL celebrating National Library Week?

Ascension Parish Library was established to educate, inform, and provide recreation to all residents. National Library Week provides the opportunity for the library to reinforce and remind residents of its promise to serve all people through expanded literacy services, increased creative opportunities, and improved online access to resources and databases.
