Record podcasts and music with professional tools. These quiet recording rooms have several styles of studio mics, a mixer, guitar, drum set, keyboard, and more! In addition to audio equipment, our makerspace offers a green screen with lighting and two high-quality cameras. A separate editing bay allows users to edit audio/visuals made in-house or elsewhere.
To use equipment in the studios, users must have an Ascension Parish Library card* and take a training class to learn how to safely operate the equipment and the procedures for checking in and out of the space and cleaning up. After taking a class, schedule a time to pass a task-based activity to earn a completion badge, allowing the cardholder to reserve equipment or software to use independently.
All classes are an hour. Register online or call the appropriate library location to schedule.
*Cardholders aged 12 to 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when using the makerspace. Those 15 and older may use the space on their own.
