July’s Pick: We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
This atmospheric, introspective novel takes place during college freshman Marin’s winter holidays, as she chooses to remain in an empty dorm in New York rather than return home to California. The reasons she decides to stay unfold gently, layer by layer, powerfully exploring her solitude and conflicted emotions. This book is the winner of the 2018 Michael L. Printz Award.
Snacks will be provided. Call 225-622-3339 to register and reserve your spot.
Note: While our book picks are curated for teens, parents may choose to review selections to make sure they’re a good fit for their reader. Questions? Contact the library in Galvez.
