Clay Trinket Bowls
with Art Academy
Wednesday, July 15
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Gonzales
Meeting Room 3See what you can form when you get your hands in the clay. Registration Required.
Learn the fundamentals of hand building as you create a one-of-a-kind clay trinket bowl perfect for holding jewelry, keys, or small treasures. Bekah Duplechin, owner of Art Academy, will guide you through working with slabs and coils, using slip to securely join pieces, smooth edges, and adding subtle texture or personal details. Once the bowls are formed, paint your piece to add color, pattern, and personality. This workshop emphasizes process over perfection, offering a chance to unwind, work with your hands, and create something both functional and meaningful. All materials will be provided by the library, and you will take your finished piece home the same day.
Bekah Duplechin has a background in fine arts and is currently a professor at Louisiana State University.
