It’s Okay to Have Big Emotions
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Ascension Alumnae Chapter
Saturday, August 29
11:00am - 12:00pm
Gonzales
Meeting Room 3Let’s talk about big emotions, when is it okay to have them, and the best ways to express what you’re feeling. Registration is required.
When children are more aware of their emotional states, they can more effectively navigate their day, their relationships with others, calm down, and solve problems when challenges arise. Calming down when upset or overstimulated and using words to describe feelings requires a lot of practice and support from caregivers. In this session aimed at children in PreK through third grade, members of Delta Sigma Theta will lead a discussion about emotions, read Llama Llama Mad at Mama by Anna Dewdney, and show how to use a breathing wand with help from library staff.
Registration is required. Call 225-647-3955 to save your spot. This program is in partnership with the Ascension Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
