Hear a powerful account of survival and resistance as local author Sharon Dunbar shares her story. This program discusses domestic violence and may contain difficult subject matter.

Drawing from her experiences growing up in a home affected by domestic violence, Sharon Dunbar will share her journey of survival, healing, and finding her voice through writing. This will be a powerful and personal conversation, as she shares her memoir, Buried on My Birthday: Breaking Free from a Lifetime of Domestic Violence.

Representatives from the IRIS Domestic Violence Center will also be on-site to provide information and resources for survivors and those supporting someone experiencing domestic violence. Attendees are welcome to connect with IRIS privately and learn about available support services.
