Hear unique stories of our hometown heroes, past and present.

In observance of Veterans Day, Master Sergeant Tanya Whitney will share stories of veterans from Ascension Parish who served from the American Revolution to the present, including Silver Star recipients, KIAs, POWs, and even one soldier who returned from WWI after being reported killed in action. Light refreshments will be served.

Whitney retired from the Army in 2010 as a Master Sgt. after many years on active duty and with the Louisiana National Guard. During her military career, she worked on Army fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. Master Sergeant Whitney is also an accomplished poet.
