Join us as Carrie Salyers of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries discusses how to support the biodiversity of wildlife and plants in your backyard. Topics will include backyard birding, pollinator gardens, and common urban wildlife identification.
Carrie Salyers has worked for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) as a biologist for the past nineteen years. She currently works within the Geaux Play Outdoors Program, which aims to engage and educate new audiences in lifelong outdoor recreation on LDWF lands. Carrie resides in Abbeville with her husband (who also works with wildlife and fisheries), her daughter Hazel, and many four-legged pets. In her spare time, she enjoys being a Girl Scout troop leader and helping shelter dogs through fostering and rescue.
Gonzales
Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
