Multipurpose RoomGo on an interactive storytelling adventure filled with songs, movement, and tales with Mama Saba.
Through wordplay, song, and dance, Mama Saba tells stories that will engage and captivate young audiences. Her performances include a mix of African and Southern tales; kids may hear traditional stories of Anansi the Spider, famous literary characters such as Brer Rabbit, and others. She may even include a few original yarns spun from her very own pen.
Phyllis D. Jason is a lifelong Louisiana resident, fondly known as Mama SaBa, who has entertained children for more than 30 years. She served for 20 years as a storyteller/discussion leader and trainer with the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities Prime Time Family Reading program. Phyllis has performed nationally and internationally, most recently with the World Storytelling Cafe organization.
